Lyrics

WALK ON

shadows of clouds moving over the ground
patterns of light where the sun beats down
sculptures of twisted lava forms
the air is cool and the rocks are warm

the rim of the crater rising all around
the wind and my footsteps are the only sound
the cool thin air of the altitude
brings a clarity to the solitude

walk on, walk on
so many times we have come and gone
walk on, walk on, walk on

thinking about the events in my life
balance the difference of pleasures and strife
and all of the things that are left incomplete
are the unlearded lessons i'll have to repeat

watching the thoughts passing through my head
pieces of dreams and some things that she said
so many desires that long to be filled
there's a moment of peace when my mind stands still

walk on, walk on
there's billions of stars in the galaxies
walk on, walk on
and there's millions of cells inside of me
walk on, walk on,
so many times we have come and gone
walk on, walk on, walk on

feeling the stones sliding under my feet
the going gets harder as the trail gets steep
climbing up through a misty veil
going back and forth on a swichback trail

watching my breath as it comes and goes
sweat dripping down off the end of my nose
looking back at the view where i've come
way up here in the clouds in the house of the sun

walk on, walk on,
there's billions of stars in the endless skies
walk on, walk on
i know one day this body is gonna die
walk on, walk on
so many times we have come and gone
walk on, walk on, walk on
